Contact form

When you write to us via the contact form, we process the data you provide: name, email address, your message and the selected language. The sole purpose is handling and answering your enquiry.

Messages are stored in a database run by an external service provider; the servers are located in Switzerland (Zurich region). We keep messages only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and do not pass them on for advertising purposes.

To guard against automated mass submissions, we briefly count how many enquiries arrive from one connection. No IP address is stored in plain text — only a check value that changes every hour, and the entries are deleted after one hour.

Questions to the Academy, ratings and poll

Below the Academy articles you can ask us a question. We process your question, the article and the language and — if you provide them — your first name and email address. Both are optional. The purpose is to answer your question.

Questions only appear on the website once we have answered them, together with our answer and — if provided — your first name. Your email address is never published. We use it only to let you know that the answer is online and delete it afterwards. Questions that we do not publish are deleted. They are stored in the same database as contact form messages, on servers in Switzerland (Zurich region); protection against mass submissions works the same way.

The ‘Was this article helpful?’ rating and the poll are anonymous: we only store which answer was chosen, as a daily count — without IP address, cookie or identifier. So that you do not vote twice, your browser remembers your choice in its local storage; this information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Location request on the Where to buy page

On the Where to buy page you can display retailers near you. Your location is requested only after your click, processed in your browser only — for the distance calculation and the dot on the map — and is neither transmitted to us or to third parties nor stored. The map itself is loaded from this website and embeds no external map service.

Hosting and server logs

The main hosting of this website is in Switzerland (Zurich). A content delivery network (CDN) is used for delivery; when pages are requested, technical data may be generated — such as IP address, time and page requested — which is processed to deliver and secure the service.

Anonymous statistics without cookies

This website uses no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics services. Fonts, images and videos are loaded directly from this website.

To see which content is read, the website counts its page views itself, anonymously. The only data transmitted is the page requested, the type of device (phone, tablet or computer) and, for the first page of a visit, where the visit came from — such as a search engine or a linking website, without its exact address. Only daily counts are stored, without IP address, cookie or identifier; individual visits or people cannot be identified from them. The same applies to clicks on the share buttons, the phone number, the email address, links to other websites and PDF files, to starting and finishing an audio version or video, and to whether an article was read to the end. The counts are kept in the same database as contact form messages, on servers in Switzerland (Zurich region).
